Description
All too often the way in which health personnel carry out their duties in the field does not come up to the expectations of the population or of those responsible for their health, and it is this important to try to improve the present situation.

Everyone agrees that you cannot have good health services without staff who are properly trained in the jobs they have to do; but adequate training is not always sufficient. With the aid of trained supervisors, this training must be supplemented and adapted to the current situation in order to correct shortcomings and to ensure continuous improvement in the performance of the health personnel.

Many people are conscious of the urgent need to speed up the process of developing primary health care, and there can be no doubt that the development of supervision at district level is one aspect that must be tackled as soon as possible.
