Abstract
The Factors that influence reproductive health and the way reproductive health fits into women's overall health in the Western Pacific Region are poorly understood. This report examines how the concept of reproductive health should be redefined in the light of new indicators to give policy- makers and planners a greater understanding of the issues involved. It is hoped that the results of present and future efforts will shape policies that will enhance women's lives. A Reproductive Health Profile of the Western Region is volume 1 in a series of booklets that look into the priority issues for the action as identified by the Global Commission on Women's Health.
